There's talk of school bus drivers going on strike at schools in Toronto and Markham.
Hundreds of drivers who work for Stock Transportation have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a walk-out, if their union and the emplyoyer cannot come to an agreement on a new contract.
The deadline to reach a deal is Thursday.
There are almost 600 school bus drivers who fall under the agreement.
They pick up and drop off roughly 8,000 students in the northern and eastern sections of Toronto's public and Catholic school boards, and also for other schools in the Greater Toronto Area.
A written statement from the Unifor local representing the drivers affected mentions concerns in the current contract over unpaid work.
The union argues drivers too often asked to work before, between, or after their shift to complete tasks that do not involve being behind the wheel.
Unifor says it is trying to work out a deal with the employer.
If there's no contract by Thursday, school bus drivers might not show up for work that morning.
A disruption would affect some schools in Toronto's public and Catholic boards.
It could also make headaches at any Toronto school holding a contract with Stock Transportation.
