Imagine getting off a GO train after a long work day. You walk up to your vehicle in the GO parking lot but you can't drive it home.
It's up on blocks. Your wheels are gone.
It happens more than you might think.
Halton Police are investigating five of these thefts over the last few weeks at the Aldershot GO Station.
A Reddit user posted a photo of a Chevy Silverado in a parking spot, its tires gone.
Metrolinx spokesperson Anne Marie Aikins says these kinds of thefts are typically carried out in groups but, "This is a fairly unusual one. It's a large group of people. Obviously, they do work exceptionally fast to get the trucks up on cinder blocks, the wheels off very quickly, and they're gone."
She says the agency has security cameras and the lots are patrolled but Metrolinx has about 75,000 parking spots and, "you cannot have eyes on all of your spots all day long."
Aikins says this particular group seems to be targeting the Lakeshore West line.
So far there have been no arrests.
