New video appears to show those raccoon proof-green bins in Toronto, may not be so raccoon proof after all.
It may be our first evidence that these animals can open the containers designed specifically to keep them out.
The apparent proof is seen in a video posted on Facebook from Saturday in the Beach near Kingston and Queen.
Graeme Boyce spotted a raccoon on top of his green bin and he couldn’t believe what happened next. Watch for yourself in the video above.
The animal reached out, turned the handle, opened the bin and dove in for dinner.
In the past the city usually blames break-ins on faulty bins like a loose screw in the latch.
