Police are investigating what they call a hate-motivated crime, after an American flag was burned in Mississauga.
On Oct. 27 at 9:14 a.m., someone called police to say someone had set fire to his American flag attached to his home in the area of Woodeden Drive and Vanier Drive in Mississauga.
Video footage shows the suspect checking the doors of vehicles parked in the person's driveway before setting fire to the flag. The suspect then went to a neighbouring home and broke into a locked car.
Investigators say this suspect is responsible for seven theft from vehicle incidents in the area.
The suspect is described as a white man, roughly 5'8" to 6' tall, slim, about 170 lbs. to 190 lbs., wearing dark Under Armour shoes, long dark pants, a dark jacket, dark sweater, a dark Under Armous baseball cap, blue latex gloves, and a black backpack with an orange Jordan logo in the middle.
