New testing guidance from the province says that low-risk, asymptomatic people should not be tested for COVID-19.
Low risk would include someone who has NOT had contact with a positive case and is NOT in a high risk group such as those in long term care homes and people with compromised immune systems.
Provincial health officials, in an update this morning, said low risk individuals without symptoms should not be going to COVID-19 assessment centres.
In a news release, the province says:

The province previously said anyone who wanted a COVID-19 test could get one.
There have been long lineups at test centres recently.
