Technical problems at the LCBO's warehouse in Whitby are leading to dwindling stock and empty space on store shelves across the GTA.
Officials with the Crown corporation say deliveries to stores have been delayed by the recent switch to a new system that handles inventory and orders at the distribution centre.
In a written statement sent to NEWSTALK 1010, a media relations officer for the LCBO downplays the glitches.
"While the transition to the new system is progressing well, deliveries remain slightly behind schedule. The LCBO is working diligently to ensure that we maintain daily replenishment orders to our stores and to our wholesale customers and that we get back to our regular operations as soon as possible."
On Tuesday afternoon, NEWSTALK 1010 found downtown Toronto stores with large gaps and empty spaces on store shelves that carry everything from wine, scotch, and vodka.
Notices posted nearby tell customers they can see a store clerk for recommendations on alternative products, if they item they want is out of stock.
