A Toronto man accused in the death of another man who was allegedly pushed in front of a train at one of the city's busiest subway stations has been remanded in custody until next month.
John Reszetnik, 57, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder in the Monday morning incident at Bloor-Yonge station.
He appeared briefly in court today, where his case put over until July 17.
Reszetnik, wearing a hooded white jumpsuit, stayed silent during the proceedings except to affirm to his lawyer that he was comfortable with the next court date.
At a news conference last night, Det. Rob North said the accused in the case did not flee and was arrested in the area about 20 minutes after the incident.
The victim has now been identified as Yosuke Hayahara, 73, of Toronto.
