A Toronto neurosurgeon accused of killing his wife will stay behind bars as he awaits his trial.
A judge decided to deny bail for Mohammed Shamji, who has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Elana Fric.
His wife's body was found in a suitcase in Kleinburg last December.
Police have said they believe Fric was killed at the couple’s home near Bathurst St and Sheppard Ave sometime between the evening of November 30th and the morning of December 1st.
A publication ban is in place that prevents the reporting of why the judge decided to deny bail.
