About 30 protestors blocked a busy Toronto intersection during rush hour Tuesday morning.
Traffic was stopped at Yonge and Bloor for about 20 minutes just after 8 a.m.
Organized by Black Lives Matter, they were protesting the deportation of Beverley Braham, a Jamaican woman with a Canadian husband and four-month-old son.

Braham is scheduled to be deported on Thursday, but the activists are demanding that the government allow her to stay while a sponsorship process by her husband is being completed.
Earlier this month, Braham was detained along with her son for 48 hours.
"It was my worst nightmare," she says of the experience.

While the activists stopped traffic and held signs that read, "Let Beverley Stay," drivers honked non-stop, frustrated that traffic was being disrupted.
"It's not very effective," one driver said. "Whatever the cause is, this isn't going to work."

Ravyn Wngz with BLM Toronto says they wanted to create a disruption to show how Braham's life has been disrupted.
"To stop traffic and get people to pay attention for a moment," he said. "We're really hoping that the folks of Toronto will get involved."
