It's hard to imagine Raechon Elahie's pain.
"He got hit three times...he got one to the chest, straight to the heart," the heartbroken mother tells CTV News Toronto.
It's the first time we are hearing from the parents of Jonathan Davis, the 17-year-old gunned down in Mississauga on Saturday.
Police have said Davis was an innocent bystander, caught up when a group fired semi-automatic weapons at another group of teens filming a rap video.
His mother rocked back and forth and wiped tears from her eyes as she spoke to CTV.
She heard the shots and ran outside to find her son bleeding on the ground.
Davis' father can't understand why this happened.
"I don't know if by killing someone, they're feeling more like a man or a monster," he says.
Davis was on the way to visit his father when he realized he was wearing slippers, so he turned around to change. That's when the shooting started.
A vigil is being held for the teen on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Malton Community Centre.
