There's a moose running around near Buttonville airport, trotting along residential streets and through backyards.
The animal was first spotted around 7 a.m.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says staff plan to tranquilize the moose.
They initially hoped to herd the animal to a safe spot but say they don't want to take any chances that it could once again venture onto the road.
York Regional Police say they'll deploy their unmanned aerial vehicle to help track the animal.
As of late Friday afternoon, the animal was resting in a wooded area along the Rouge River.
Wildlife authorities are concerned about causing the moose too much stress, as prolonged peroids of anxiety can be fatal to the animals.
Once the moose is subdued, wildlife experts plan to transport it to the Barrie or Muskoka area to be set free.
The animal is believed to be a male around 2 years of age.
