Remember the infamous shoving incident last June involving a U.S. sheriff's deputy and Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri?
Well, some new video has been released. And it shows a totally different side to the story.
The revealing 6 minute and 20 second video, released by Ujiri's legal team, allegedly shows the Alameda County sheriff's deputy initiating the altercation on June 13, 2019.
He appears to shove Ujiri twice, as he attempts to make his way to centre court to join the team to celebrate the Raptor's historic NBA finals' win.
Another video shows the shove from what appears to be the officer's body-worn camera.
In that video, Ujiri seems to be pulling out his credentials to show he's part of the team, in order to gain access to centre court at Oracle Arena.
You'll recall the officer later sued Ujiri, claiming he suffered “severe emotional and physical distress” as a result of the post-game altercation. The officer also claimed he suffered a concussion and jaw injury that forced him to take medical leave from his job.
Last October, it was announced that charges against Ujiri had been dropped.
Ujiri filed a countersuit.
Ujiri's legal team says this new video clearly shows that the sheriff's deputy was the initial "aggressor".
The matter is still before the courts.
