On the surface, it appears to be a wonderful story of a woman stepping in to do what's right.
She posted videos on facebook that have since gone viral, claiming a man was on the phone trying to lure a 15 year old, to spend time alone with them.
She stopped him from leaving the Bathurst streetcar, and called police.
When cops showed up, they investigated, but let the man go. They called it a "misunderstanding".
But the videos, some showing a portion of the man's face, are still online and have been shared and seen tens of thousands of times.
Should that woman have to take the videos down, since the mane won't be charged?
NEWSTALK 1010's legal analyst, Ed Prutschi says it does open her up to potential recourse in the civil courts.
"When you publically post and image of someone, and you attach an allegation that the person is some sort of sex offender, that's an extrodinarily serious allegation and you'd better be right about it, otherwise you're potentially facing issues of defamation, libel and slander."
The man's name has never been released and it would be up to him to pursue anything in the civil courts. But if he does, it could shine more like on something he'd likely rather slip into the shadows.
Prutschi says it's right to make a citizens arrest when you think something wrong is happening, but it's best to keep it off Facebook.
