The number of pedestrians killed on Toronto roads is higher than it's been since 2002.
Already 41 people have been killed, which represents 55% of all traffic fatalities in Toronto in 2016. Of those deaths, 27 have been seniors.
Police have released a pedestrian safety video, asking people to be aware of your surroundings, cross at designated locations, look both ways, and never assume that drivers can see you, or are aware of your intent.
They suggest, "The next time you cross the road, take a second to stop, *look*, listen, and think. That could save your life."
