One person is dead and four others were sent to hospital after fire broke out at an apartment building downtown.
The fire started around 5:45 p.m. Thursday at a Toronto Community Housing building near Dundas and George Streets.
It quickly became a three alarm blaze.
Fire officials say several residents needed help to get out of the building.
Police say the entire building has been evacuated and the residents were being taken to temporary lodging.
There's no word yet on the cause of the fire. The Fire Marshal's office has been called in.
