OPP will be using their own transport trucks this week to fight dangerous drivers behind the wheel of commercial vehicles.
Police have launched Operation Safe Trucking, a five-day long enforcement campaign, in which officers will look for transport truck drivers who are distracted, impaired or travelling aggressively.

There have been more than 6,200 accidents in Ontario this year involving transport trucks, and 87 people were killed in those collisions.

During this week's campaign, the OPP will use two of their transport trucks to patrol the highways. An officer will sit in the passenger seat, looking into cabs of other trucks.
Police are also using aircraft to spot aggressive driving from above.
