Toronto Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of a man believed to have been one of two shooters, in a muder from April.
33-year-old Leonard Pinnock was shot and killed while sitting in his car, in a parking lot near Dufferin and Eglinton.
Police say he was only there because he was doing a friend a favour, dropping him off.
Officers now say they are looking for Alil Whyte, 24, who is believed to be one of two men seen in surveillance video firing shots into the vehicle where Pinnock was sitting.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Whyte is wanted for first degree murder.
Detective Joyce Schertzer says Whyte should be considered armed and dangerous.
“If anyone is considering offering Akil Whyte assistance in evading arrest, I would caution them that there are criminal consequences to offering him any aid in that regard,” she said.
“Individuals harbouring Akil Whyte leave themselves vulnerable to prosecution.”
She says it's only a matter of time before they catch him.
However, they still haven't been able to identify the second shooter.
