York Regional Police have charged four teens and a 52-year-old father in a fight in Oak Ridges that happened in a park at the start of December.
Cops suggest the original fight was scheduled in Briar Nine Park, between a student at Cardinal Carter Catholic High School and a student from St. Theresa Lisieux Catholic High School.
The 52-year-old was the father of one of those students and actually came along, before allegedly getting into a verbal arguement with another teen who was simply watching the fight. That boiled over and the father is alleged to have assaulted the student.
But it didn't end there.
Shortly after, in the parking lot, police claim a group of teens confronted the father, eventually assaulting him, leaving him with serious injuries.
He is expected to make a full recovery.
Police have charged a 15-year-old, two 16-year-olds and an 18-year-old, all from Richmond Hill, with assault causing bodily harm. The 52-year-old man from King Township is facing a charge of assault.
Officers say the investigation is on-going and are looking for more video of both the original fight, and the secondary dust-up in the parking lot.
