York police have recovered $700,000 worth of vehicles and auto parts that were stolen from commuter parking lots in the GTA.
Police launched an investigation in August after receiving several reports of vehicles stolen from GO lots while drivers were at work.
Once investigators identified the suspects, they tracked them back to an auto parts shop in Toronto.
Const. Andy Pattenden says the suspects would take apart the vehicles and sell that parts in the GTA or overseas.
He says the thieves appeared to be targeting Honda, Acura, and Toyota vehicles.
Police have recovered a couple of full vehicles and parts from 32 others.
46-year-old Vaughan Mahon, 33-year-old Ricardo Shaw, and 70-year-old Silas Morgan have been arrested and charged with theft, possession of stolen property and trafficking items.
