A Toronto school playground has been badly damaged by fire, and police are investigating it as arson.
Firefighters were called to Norman Ingram Public School, near Don Mills Rd and Lawrence Ave, just before 2 a.m. Friday for reports of a blaze.
By the time they arrived, the play structure was fully engulfed in flames.
"It looks like the majority of it is completely burnt," says TDSB spokesperson Shari Schwartz-Maltz. "It's very disturbing."

Schwartz-Maltz says the board is working with the parent community to get it rebuilt as quickly as possible. They do not have an estimate yet on how much it will cost to replace the structure.
"Playground at schools are important to kids," she says. "They spend a long time in the classroom, and here's the place they get to go and play and let off steam... that's why we're all really upset today."
Police have no information at this time on suspects.
