A demonstration near the U.S. Consulate in Toronto Monday could snarl traffic on the morning commute.
Dozens of people have converged across from consulate on University Ave just north of Queen St W and plan to stay until about 2 p.m.
Organizers have called it a peaceful demonstration against America's temporary immigration restrictions against people arriving from seven Muslim-majority countries:
Iraq, Iran, Libya, Syria, Sudan, Somalia and Yemen.
Demonstrators moved into University Ave.'s southbound lanes and stage a sit-in at about 8:30 a.m.

The White House has provided assurances that Canadians with dual citizenship or valid residency cards will not be turned back at the American border, provided they bring their residency card and passport from one of the seven affected countries.
As a result of the protest, there will be limited operations at the consulate Monday and there will not be any Visa or American Citizen Services appointments.
Another protest is set of outside the U.S. consulate in Ottawa Monday where desmonstrators plan to create a human chain around the Sussex Dr address.
