A downtown Toronto food market has been closed for the day after a video surfaced of mice nibbling on baklava.
Over the weekend a man recorded video of two mice snacking on left-out pastries at Meli Baklava and Chocolate Bar. Meli is one of a handful of grab-and-go eateries housed in the Queen Live Fresh Food Market on Queen St W near John St.
In an interview with NEWSTALK 1010's sister station CTV, Meli's co-owner Julie Kyriakaki insists the goodies were for display only and not to be sold to customers. But Kyriakaki admits the building does have a rodent problem.
By midday Monday, a red sign on the complex's glass doors declared it closed by order of Toronto's Medical Office of Health.

Meli was last checked out by Dine Safe inspectors in February and passed. Inspectors were last in the building in early May to visit another eatery.
Queen Live's property manager tells CTV pest inspections are done once a month. He also said he planned to tell vendors not to leave food out overnight.
