Investigators in York Region have fanned out security camera footage from a neighbourhood in Vaughan in hopes that a tipster can lead them to a person suspected of stealing patio furniture.
Police believe she is responsible for two seperate thefts over the past 2 weeks, and say its possible other thefts have gone unnoticed or unreported.
The video, captured at a home near Weston Rd. and Major Mackenzie Dr., shows the suspect driving a white, late-model Infiniti QX70 SUV.
It slowly makes its way down the street before backing up and pulling into a driveway, where the suspect gets out and helps herself to the patio furniture cushions and rug that were on the front porch of the home.
Authorities believe the woman is the same one who was seen a few days earlier at a home near Dufferin St. and Rutherford Rd.
A witness said they observed someone in a similar vehicle stop in a driveway before loading patio chairs into the vehicle and driving away.
Const. Andy Pattenden says police have no reason to believe the suspect is known to either of the victims.
The woman is described as Asian, with long black hair and a thin build.
Anyone with information is asked to contact York Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
