Al Carbone says he was trying to show that King St has turned into a "ghost town."
About 40 people took part in a game of street hockey on Tuesday, along a stretch of King St that is part of a year-long pilot project to give streetcars priority.
Carbone, the owner of the Kit Kat restaurant near King and John, says he organized the game, which lasted about 45 minutes to an hour.
"It's a ghost town so we though we'd ... animate the street again," he says.
"We never disturbed the traffic... there were no cars, there were no streetcars. And when they came, instead of yelling car, we yelled streetcar."
