It was a daylight shooting that could have easily turned into a bloodbath.
Toronto Police have released new photos and video, of the shooting that happened on Tuesday afternoon in Toronto's Entertainment District.
A 21-year-old up-and-coming rapper, who has been identified as Dimarjio Jenkins, but also went by the stage name Houdini, was shot and killed on Blue Jays Way, just south of King just before 4 o'clock.
Police now say suspects in a rental vehicle were waiting for him.
When a suspect jumped out of the SUV, that's when the gunfight started, with two of Jenkins' friends returning fire. One of those, a 15-year-old boy who was injured, is now facing gun charges. Police are still looking for one suspect.
That rental SUV was later found burnt out in York Region.
Det.-Sgt. Andy Singh says a 27-year-old woman who was an innocent bystander was hit by a stray bullet and suffered minor injuries, while others, including a six-year-old boy, were narrowly missed by gunfire.
As a matter of fact, Singh says the boy was missed by "inches."
One of the people involved in the gunfight, was armed with a handgun that had a high capacity magazine, meaning it's capable of holding more bullets.
Officers have recovered two firearms, both handguns, and say they counted 23 shell casings at the scene, showing at least 23 shots were fired.
Police are still looking to talk with anyone who has any information, concerning what happened.
