As you get back into the swing of things on the first morning after March Break, school safety is the focus on a couple of fronts.
Toronto Mayor John Tory announced the next steps in Vision Zero, a safety plan focused on roads around schools.
Tory says he's going to ask the province to speed up the implementation of photo radar in school zones, hoping to have that up and running before the earlier announced mid-2019 timeline.
The city will also install "watch your speed" signs, with flashing lights alerting drivers to watch how fast they are driving past schools. In addition, Tory called for pavement markings to be added.
Toronto Police are also focused on school zones, as kids get back to class, kicking off a two week safety blitz near schools.
