WARNING: DISTURBING VIDEO
Video, obtained by TMZ, appears to show a dog being forced into rushing water during a movie shoot.
The entertainment website reports the footage was taken during shooting of the upcoming film, "A Dog's Purpose."
It says the scene was shot in a pool outside Winnipeg in November 2015.
The video appears to show a trainer forcing the German Shepherd into the water as it tries to resist.
A later shot appears to show the dog going under the water followed by handlers rushing to the animal.
TMZ reports being told the director was there during the filming and at least one crew member was extremely disturbed.
Amblin Partners and Universal Pictures reportedly told the website, "Fostering a safe environment and ensuring the ethical treatment of our animal actors was of the utmost importance to those involved in making this film and we will look into the circumstances surrounding this video."
