It was the first time a March for Life rally has been held in Toronto, and it raised some eyebrows around Queen's Park.
Niagara West PC MPP sam Oosterhoff stood in front of the crowd gathered on the front lawn of the legislature, and pledged to make abortion "unthinkable".
There was a similar rally held on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
Oosterhoff was joined by two other PC MPP's at the rally, all of whom made remarks to the crowd.
"Are you here to stop death, or are you here for life!?" said MPP Will Bouma.
Scarborough Centre MPP Christina Mitas was the third member who was at the rally.
Later, in question period, Premier Doug Ford was asked about it, and immediately deferred the question to the energy minister, who started talking about putting money into health care.
Ford did eventually release a statement, saying "The Ontario PC Party is a big-tent. We welcome members from a wide variety of backgrounds and beliefs. Our government is focused on protecting what matters most, cleaning up a fiscal mess left behind by the Liberals, making Ontario open for business and open for jobs, and lowering taxes for families. The Government will not re-open the abortion debate."
Still, that may have been too little, too late for some opposition MPP's.
"The idea that this government and this Premier were not willing to distance themselves from those comments immediately, is very concerning and for me it was actually quite disgusting." says NDP MPP Marit Styles.
