Toronto Police are sharing video of a violent assault and robbery in the hopes of finding the man responsible.
Police say it happened inside a condo building near St. Clair Ave W and Avenue Rd at about 11:20 p.m. on Saturday June 1 after a man followed a woman in
Surveillance video from a condo elevator shows the man reaching for the woman's purse once the doors to the elevator closed. The footage shows him repeatedly trying to yank the purse away from the woman as she falls. The man also pulls at the woman's legs.
While the video distributed by police does not have accompanying audio, police say the man said he had a weapon.
The suspect is described as a man in his 30s standing 5'9 with very short straight light brown hair. He was wearing a bright pink "Canada" hoodie, a red and black "Deadpool" hat, black Adidas track pants with a white stripe own each leg and black runners. He was carrying an orange Jansport backpack.
Police consider the suspect to be violent, armed and dangerous. They say anyone who spots him should call 911.
