Part of the Allen will be shut down this weekend for spring maintenance.
The closure takes effect at 11 p.m. Friday between Sheppard and the 401.
The Allen is scheduled to re-open 5 a.m. Monday.
According to the City of Toronto, there are also two events this weekend that will affect traffic downtown.
The Bum Run
On Sunday, April 29 from 7 to 10:30 a.m., series of lane restrictions will be in place in the area bounded by Bloor Street to the north, Spadina Avenue to the west, College Street to the south and Bay Street to the east for this annual event. In addition, a full closure of Queen's Park from College to Bloor will be required during that period on Sunday.
Khalsa Day
On Sunday, April 29 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the southbound and northbound curb lanes on University Avenue will be closed for the Khalsa Day Parade formation and dispersal areas. The parade route will be managed by Toronto Police Services.
On Sunday, April 29, 2018, at 1 p.m., the 2018 Khalsa Day Parade will be held.
Exhibition Place will be the staging and formation area.
The parade will follow the route of:
- southbound, New Brunswick Way
- eastbound, Lake Shore Boulevard West, full closure
- northbound, York Street, University Avenue, northbound lanes
The parade will end at Nathan Phillips Square at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Motorists can expect delays in the area and should consider alternate methods of transportation.
The TTC may experience delays.
The parade will take place regardless of weather conditions.
