He was driving through Eglinton and Don Mills earlier Friday morning when a construction fence came crashing down, blown over by the wind.
A steel beam smashed through the van's windshield.
The driver was trapped for a short time but is expected to recover.
The fence was part of the Crosstown LRT construction.
