There is no detail being offered and no evidence given, but ISIS has claimed responsible for Sunday's shooting on the Danforth that killed 2 people and injured 13 others.
The claim was announced by the news agency that pumps out propaganda for the terror group and suggests the shooter was: "a soldier of the Islamic State and carried out the attack in response to calls to target the citizens of the coalition countries."
These claims, mostly without evidence, are often standard practice for ISIS.
Canadian authorities have not commented on the new ISIS claim.
Toronto Police refused to comment on Tuesday's report from CBS that the shooter may have visited ISIS websites
The federal government has insisted there is no national security connection to this investigation.
There is also a new report that the gun used in the attack came from somewhere in the United States.
NEWSTALK 1010 told you Tuesday more guns used in Canadian crimes are being sold inside the country, but the illegal gun used in this crime had crossed the border.
Police also reportedly found another gun inside the shooter's apartment.
How did the 29 year-old get his hands on the weapon?
That is not clear.
But, a police source talking to NEWSTALK 1010 contributor Christie Blatchford in the National Post suggests it's possible it could have come from gangbangers in his neighborhood that he likely knew.
The attacker did not have a criminal record but The Toronto Star has dug up court documents concerning the shooter's brother, who is in a coma in hospital.
The brother was accused of selling crack in 2015, charged for having a shotgun shell, and briefly lived at home in Pickering that was later discovered to have almost three dozen guns inside.
