Police are investigating a scary and violent incident downtown Thursday night.
They say a woman was hit by a hammer near Victoria and Dundas outside a safe injection site. Police do not believe she was using the clinic before she was attacked.
It happened around 9:30 p.m.
At first, police say they couldn't find the victim but she eventually made her own way to hospital. Her injuries are minor.
Police managed to find video of the incident. They say the suspect also had a knife.
They're still looking for him.
He's described as 35-years-old, six feet tall with a brown complexion.
He was wearing a purple head covering, black hoodie with a Reebok logo and black pants.
