2 pedestrians were struck, one was killed, after being struck by a truck Friday afternoon.
The pair were crossing the street near St. Lawrence Market in the Front and Church area around 12:35 p.m.
One of the two pedestrians struck, a 23 year old female, was pronounced dead on the scene. The female reportedly ended up underneath the truck
According to Toronto Police Cont Clint Stibbe, the pair were attempting to cross the street when they were struck.
"They were struck by a motor vehicle that was southbound turning to westbound Wellington st. We are currently seeking any witnesses to the collision to determine what happened and what exactly led to this collision."
The other pedestrian struck was a 26 year male who reportedly suffered minor injuries.
Stibbe also confirmed the driver of the truck remained on scene and was speaking with officers. The Ministry of Labour is also attending the investigation.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear. The area is expected to remain closed for another 3 hours.
