Premier Kathleen Wynne says a process kicked in as soon as her office was notified of allegations of sexual assault against a former MPP.
Former Liberal MP John Nunziata says he represents a woman who worked for the unidentified man as an administrative assistant and alleges groping and other forms of misconduct occurred around 2006 or 2007.
He says no action was taken when his client raised concerns at the time and she felt intimidated when Wynne's lawyer responded with a request for further information after the woman reached out to the premier about her experience.
Nunziata says there needs to be a better system to field such complaints but Wynne says there is a process in place and it is being followed.
