There are some interesting findings in a new Ipsos survey about housing in the GTA.
It seems most people agree we need more of it, as long as it's in someone else's neighbourhood.
The survey finds 87% think boosting the housing supply would help ease housing affordability issues.
However, 59% say they do not want to see new highrise condos built within a half kilometre of their home.
44% are even opposed to a stacked townhome complex close to home and 30% don't even want new single family detached homes in their neighbourhood.
The research was done for the Building and Land Development Association and the Toronto Real Estate Board.
A BILD spokesperson tells the Toronto Star the results are disheartening.
