York Regional Police and Investigators with the Homicide Unit are asking for the public's assistance in locating a suspect.
The suspect is wanted for Failing to Remain Causing Death following the death of a man in the City of Markham back in October.
Shortly before 5 p.m. on October 9th, York Regional Police received a report that a man was unconscious and in need of medical assistance on Stirling Crescent. When officers arrived, they located a 30-year-old man, suffering from injuries. He was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to those injuries.
The victim was identified as 30-year-old Michael Khan, of Markham.
Through the investigation, officers have identified the suspect, 21 year old Deshawn Mcckenzie of Toronto and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Investigators are looking to speak to anyone with information on his location. Police also encouraging the suspect to obtain legal advice and turn himself in.
