Police in York Region are out with chilling allegations of an 11-day-long kidnapping ordeal that ended with what might have been a struggle for the victim's life.
Detectives believe a man from Mississauga met a woman at a bar in Fort Erie on February 8th.
54-year old David Pressman is accused of taking the woman to his hotel room where he held her captive.
Allegations are he raped and beat her multiple times.
In the dark hours of Wednesday morning, police believe Pressman made the 2-hour drive from Fort Erie to Vaughan.
He took the woman to the woods, near Dufferin St. and Teston Rd.
Const. Laura Nicolle is not able say what Pressman might have intended to do there, but she admits it increases the urgency to find and arrest the suspect.
"When you read this, everybody probably feels a similar concern," Nicolle says.
"Taking her to a wooded area like that definitely sets off a lot of flags and concerns for the community."
Nicolle says somehow, the woman managed to escape and made her way to the road.
Calls for help came in around 4:30am from a driver who had been flagged down by the victim.
Police say she will be kept safe and connected with support services.
The man believed to have kidnapped her is still on the run.
Pressman is described as a white male, about 6' tall, weighing 260lbs.
He has a long, bushy, grey and brown beard.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call York Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
