Passengers taking the ferry to Toronto's island airport will notice new security measures starting next Monday.
Screeners will select travelers at random to have their luggage and other belongings swabbed.
Security staff will use a hand-held detector to check for any signs of explosives.
Officials with Toronto's Port Authority say passengers can expect to be approached by Security staff before boarding the ferry to the airport.
The change comes as part of security regulations put in place by Federal transportation authorities.
There will be no extra screening for passengers using the pedestrian tunnel.
