The case of an editor convicted of spewing hate in an independent Toronto publication is back in court today.
A judge has allowed James Sears to argue that his lawyer failed to defend him properly by refusing to call any witnesses.
The judge gave the editor of Your Ward News two weeks to provide a list of proposed witnesses, their credentials, and what they would testify to.
The judge will now decide whether to reopen the trial to hear those witnesses, declare a mistrial, or proceed with sentencing.
