We are starting to get a sense of the cost of last spring's strike by workers at the Toronto Zoo.
According to a report tabled in a meeting of the zoo's board of management, the strike could end up costing the city $4 million.
The zoo was closed for 34 days in May and June.
The report says the closure lead to 218,012 fewer visitors than expected. Visitors were also down in the last two weeks of June due to "residual impact of the labour disruption," including the cancellation of some school trips.
More visitors in the fall could help offset the loss. "Attendance has been great...weather has been good on the weekends," Board Chair, Councillor Paul Ainslie, tells CTV News. "At this point we're very optimistic that that number is going to go down."
