Bill Carroll is host of “The Bill Carroll Show” on Newstalk 1010 airing weekdays from 9am to 10am. His commentaries are seen nationally on CTV News channel and CP 24 in Toronto. A veteran broadcaster with a career spanning small-town Ontario to major markets in Canada and the U.S., Bill has earned accolades including the prestigious Edward R. Murrow, RTNDA Sam Ross Awards and an RTDNA Lifetime Achievement Award. Originally from Scotland and raised in Toronto, he began his on-air journey in 1980 at CJTT in New Liskeard, Ontario, as a one-man news department—handling everything from news director to anchor and reporter. A few small towns later Bill joined Q107 in Toronto on a news program called “Barometer”. Bill then moved to Talk 640 as morning host, before joining CFRB – now Newstalk 1010. In his first stint here, he quickly moved from weekend News anchoring to becoming one of Canada’s premier talk radio hosts. That’s when Hollywood came to call. In 2010 he joined talk radio juggernaut KFI in Los Angeles taking his midday show to number 1 in LA. In a rare feat, Bill hosted daily shows in two countries—midday on KFI and afternoon drive on AM640 in Toronto. He returned to Canada in 2016 where his style as the host of the morning show shocked the nation’s capital. Very quickly, the city fell in love and the show has consistently been at the top of the ratings. Still winning awards for his raw commentary, he can also make you laugh out loud with his colourful story telling and cheeky Scottish wit.
